4. Membership & Fees
Participation requires a current IGV membership, at minimum an 'IGV Recreational Membership'.
- Annual membership runs from 1st April to 31st March the following year and must be renewed each season.
- Fees are payable in full at registration; membership isn't active until payment clears.
- Fees are non-refundable and non-transferrable, except as required under Australian Consumer Law.
- Unpaid fees may lead to suspension, removal from programs, or being reported to governing bodies as unfinancial.
- IGV may decline or suspend a membership at its discretion.
5. Risk, Health & Liability
Volleyball carries inherent risks: falls, collisions, sprains, fractures, head injury (including concussion), heat-related illness, and aggravation of existing conditions. By participating, members accept these risks, even where reasonable care is taken.
Members must disclose relevant medical conditions, injuries, allergies or medications to IGV staff before participating, and confirm they're fit to take part. IGV doesn't provide medical or ambulance insurance, members are responsible for any related costs. In an emergency, staff may arrange treatment if a member can't be reached. Anyone suspected of concussion must not return to play without medical clearance.
WARNING: Under the Australian Consumer Law and Fair Trading Act, providers of recreational services may limit liability for death or personal injury arising from those services. To the extent permitted by law, members release IGV, its coaches, officials, volunteers and venue providers from liability for injury, loss or damage arising from participation, except where liability can't be lawfully excluded.
6. Indemnity
Members agree to indemnify IGV, its officers, coaches, volunteers and affiliates against claims, liabilities or costs arising from a breach of these terms, negligent or unlawful conduct, or failure to follow IGV policies or directions.
7. Cancellations & Refunds
- Registrations, memberships and purchases are final and non-transferrable.
- If IGV cancels or reschedules a session, event or competition, affected members get a refund or make-up credit.
- Other refund requests (e.g. injury, illness, personal circumstances) are reviewed case-by-case.
- Approved refunds are processed within 14 business days.
- No refund or credit for non-attendance, change of mind, or scheduling conflicts.
8. Photography & Media
IGV may photograph or film training, competitions and events for promotion on its website and social media, without compensation to members. Content stays IGV's intellectual property and can't be used commercially by others; members may download and share it for personal use only. To opt out of media, notify the Club in writing.
9. Personal Accident Insurance
As an affiliated member of Volleyball NSW, IGV members are covered by personal accident insurance while participating in official IGV activities, provided a valid membership is in place at the time of the incident. IGV doesn't process claims — these go directly through Marsh, Volleyball Australia's appointed broker: https://www.au.marsh.com/sport/volleyball-australia.html
10. Privacy & Data Use
IGV collects and uses personal information for administration, communication and operations, in line with applicable privacy laws, and may share it with Volleyball NSW, Volleyball Australia or other governing bodies where required.
11. Discipline, Suspension & Termination
IGV may warn, suspend or terminate a membership, or remove someone from a program or venue, where there are reasonable grounds a member has breached these terms or acted unsafely, disruptively or inappropriately. Serious matters may be referred to Volleyball NSW or Volleyball Australia. Disciplinary matters follow IGV policy and procedural fairness.
12. Amendments
IGV may amend these terms at any time. Updates are published on the IGV website and take effect immediately unless stated otherwise.
